Biography
Stefanie grew up in western Kansas. She was raised by her hard-working mother who always encouraged her to pursue her passions of acting and dancing. Once she saw her first live dance performance, she knew she wanted to perform and would dance around the house endlessly begging to take dance classes. In 5th Grade, a county wide competition was held called Famous Figures that involved writing your own monologue, becoming that famous person, and performing it. Much to her own surprise, being that she was a fairly reserved and quiet girl, she ended up winning it, but more importantly she fell in love with telling people's stories. She went on to study theatre in college at Fort Hays State University, eventually earning a BA, and at Hunter College in NYC on an exchange program.
Stefanie moved to Kansas City after graduating and has been very active and involved in the theatre scene here. She teaches physical education classes that involve storytelling and imagination to daycare aged children, teaches dance, and has a few other various jobs besides her performing work. Excercise is an important aspect of her life, and she loves going on runs with her dog Sadie who is a big teady bear. Some of her other passions are art, nature, movies, animals, people watching, and reading. For the past year she's made it a goal to read great American literature works and most recently finished One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
Stefanie is a passionate person who loves making real connections with people. She always tends to find the good in people and can easily empathize with them. Intelligence, work ethic, tenacity, and compassion are qualities she holds in high regard.
